The NI Protocol involves new requirements and responsibilities for Northern Ireland businesses who trade goods across borders. Whilst much of the detail is still to be agreed, international trade expert Dr Anna Jerzewska explores the key questions and issues over how the Protocol will be implemented.
Anna provides advice on what changes businesses can expect to see and how best to prepare for the operating environment which will exist after the end of the transition period. This 90 min webinar is chaired by David Roberts from Invest NI’s Brexit team. It is an interactive session where attendees submitted questions to Anna throughout the event, with a Q&A discussion at the end.
Agenda:
- What will change under the NI Protocol
- Potential documentation requirements and costs for NI importers including dealing with goods at risk
- Potential requirements for NI exporters including Rules of Origin, exit declarations, transit of goods to EU via GB
- Implications for NI of new tariffs/non-tariff barriers as a result of the future agreement between the UK and the EU
- Which of these elements would be impacted if the UK was to diverge from EU legislation?
- What can businesses do now to prepare?
- Q&A/Discussion
